Julie graduated from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, with honors, earning a B.A. in English. She received her law degree from The University of Houston Law Center where she was a member of the Order of the Barristers. Julie served on the Executive Board of Advocates in 1998, 1999, and 2000.

Julie advises a number of clients on network security, software compliance, and audit defense issues.  She also participates in due diligence related to software assets. A number of clients rely on Julie to assist with their transactions.  Her representative clients include software companies, architectural firms, financial services firms, retail distributors, and utility companies. Julie also represents several clients in disputes involving intellectual property, business ownership interests, and contracts.

Julie is admitted to practice before all Texas State Courts.

She also co-authored numerous articles addressing the legal, financial, and regulatory risks associated with software compliance.
